Coffee with the Bloggers: Maggie

Q: If you weren’t blogging for Out of Office, what kind of blog would you want to write?
A: I’d like to say I would blog about something worldly like art or cooking, but realistically I would probably blog about my life experiences. I think a lot of people can relate to trying to live a balanced life.
Q: Favorite type of food?
A: The one food I can’t resist is pizza. Admittedly, I’m not that adventurous when it comes to food so give me a cheesy pizza and I’m set! It’s so hard to understand how carbs can be so bad but taste so good. My sweet tooth can get me into trouble, too!
Q: Favorite way to relax and unwind?
A: I enjoy spending time with my son. He and I will go for a walk, read a story, or play cars (his favorite!)
Q: Best vacation you’ve ever taken?
A: When I graduated from high school my parents took me and my sisters on a Caribbean cruise. It was our last family vacation before I went off to college. I will never forget the beautiful beaches, snorkeling, and all-you-can-eat pizza!

Q: What did you study in school? Why, and how, does it connect/not connect to what you do now?
A: I have a degree in advertising. I enjoy the blend of business and creative that the world of marketing has to offer. Right now I am applying my skills to management, but I would love to utilize my knowledge to have a career at corporate with FedEx.
Q: Photo albums or scrapbooks?
A: I like both. I try to keep everything in organized albums. Lately, due to my lack of free time, my scrapbooks usually come as a kit with pre-cut pieces and stickers with detailed instructions.
Q: Favorite project on the Out of Office site and “dream project” you’d like to undertake?
A: There have been so many interesting projects we’ve done. I particularly like the writeable food labels for freezer meals. I take everything day by day so it’s hard to say what I will be blogging about in the future.
Q: Favorite or last book you read and what did you like about it?
A: I enjoy inspirational books.
Q: Cat or dog person?
A: I would have to say cat. We never had a dog when I was growing up so I wasn’t really exposed to them. We rescued Moe and Copper from local shelters. Some day my husband and I want to get an English bulldog.

Q: How long have you worked at FedEx Office® and what do you do there?
A: I started at FedEx Office in October 2008. Besides being a blog writer, I am an Assistant Manager in a local center, so I pretty much handle most day to day operations at the center. My favorite part is giving a customer a finished project that makes them say, “WOW!”
Q: What’s the best thing FedEx ever delivered to you/printed for you?
A: My husband and I had our wedding bands delivered via FedEx. We also printed our wedding invitations, programs, and thank you notes at FedEx Office.

Q: How do you like your coffee?
A: I am not a coffee drinker. In the winter I enjoy a nice white hot chocolate. In summer, an iced chai tea hits the spot.
