Family Reunion Series: Something They Can’t Miss

As the final installment in this summer’s family reunion series, I want to showcase another one of my reunion must-haves: banners.

With relatives flooding in from all parts of the country, one of the biggest challenges is to get the whole clan to the event site. By posting an oversized, “can’t miss” visual at your meeting spot, family members will know immediately that they’re in the right place. And trust me…a bunch of balloons just won’t do – especially if the event is at a crowded park. Plus, if you change locations over the course of your reunion, banners are easily moved and reused – and everyone will already know what to look for.

Aside from the more obvious uses, banners at your reunion can also showcase the family tree (you could have guests sign or leave handprints), the schedule of activities or a “family timeline” of significant milestones like weddings and births. Remember that signs can also help emphasize a theme, if you have one, which definitely raises the fun factor.

Just like the invitation, a reunion banner sets the tone of the event. You might even say that they are the “face” of the reunion because they are hard to miss and usually the first thing guests see. FedEx Office offers a huge variety of customizable signs, banners and oversize prints that can be designed for indoor or outdoor use. For a more formal look, you can match your banner and invitations by using the same colors, fonts and graphics.

Now it’s your turn to tell us how you’ve used signs and banners at your events!
