Round-Up: Beyond the Easter Egg Hunt

With Easter just a little more than a week away, I thought it was time to share some helpful sites (besides our own!) with ideas for celebrating this special holiday. My best friend’s 3-year old, Cade, is to the age where he is starting to understand holidays and as “Uncle Adam” I’ve been thinking up Easter activities. The first thing that comes to mind is the traditional Easter egg hunt. Even though it can be a fun activity – as adults search for devilishly difficult hiding places and kids scurry around trying to find them – I wanted to “hunt” down tips for less common ways to enjoy the day with family and friends. And of course, since it is me, I have been putting some serious thought into Easter dinner. With that in mind, here are a few sites with ideas to help celebrate this April holiday.

  • Divine Dinner Party is a great Web site with resources and menus for planning dinner and holiday parties. They have an entire page dedicated to different recipes for Easter dinner. This can be helpful if you’ve signed up to host the entire family for dinner and are stumped for new recipe ideas!
  • On Easter Made Easy you’ll find a variety of fun ideas for Easter crafts and projects. I really liked the step-by-step instructions for how to make your own Easter bouquet with simple materials like tissue paper and pipe cleaners. This could be a great decoration to brighten your home and celebrate the holiday.
  • And if you’re looking for tips on how to assemble an Easter basket for young guests that won’t break the bank, The Shopping Mama offers affordable suggestions on special treats you can include in baskets for children. From a spring chalk set to cute felt bunnies, adding these trinkets with tasty Easter candy will be a sweet surprise for the little Easter bunnies in your life.
I hope these Easter ideas were helpful for you. Don’t forget to share your own tips for celebrating in the comments section – the more, the merrier!
