Round-Up: Closing Out the Lazy Days of Summer

For many, Labor Day signals the unofficial end to the lazy days of summer. This might sound depressing, but I think the holiday should be a celebration of all the hard work we’ve been doing at home and on the job. Whatever your profession–nurse, teacher, mom, firefighter, lawyer – you’ve earned the right to celebrate!

No matter how you plan to mark the occasion, we at Out of Office want to help you make the most of your Labor Day.

  • If you’re throwing a final barbeque and hanging up your tongs for the season, make sure to properly clean and store your grill. Real Simple has check lists for both gas and charcoal grills.
  • Keep the kids active on their day off with Labor Day-themed projects like these from Enchanted Learning.
  • Heading out of town for one final summertime trip? Check out this video from Real Simple about how to pack the perfect weekend bag.
  • Look at Labor Day like a New Year’s Day for your job – and make a resolution for your labor life. Check out these re-energizing tips from the Out of Office team for inspiration on how to give yourself a boost on the job.
  • Learn about the history of Labor Day and why we celebrate this holiday every year from the United States Department of Labor.

Have a wonderful holiday, everyone!
