Save your ornaments with this kid-proof Christmas tree

Happy holidays! Christmas is just around the corner and this year I was inspired to create a special tree for my son to decorate. He loves to help decorate the Christmas tree, but he doesn’t get to hang as many ornaments as he would like because they are so fragile. I decided to make a tree just for him out of durable, kid-proof materials at FedEx Office®.
Here are the steps you can follow to create a kid-proof Christmas tree. (And there are no pesky needles or broken glass!)
1. Choose a tree design. I picked a clip art image at FedEx Office and sized it to be about 4’ tall.
2. Bring your tree to life through printing! Save your design to a flash drive and bring it in to a FedEx Office location to work with a Team Member. Or you can upload your file through Print Online. I printed my tree design on outdoor vinyl banner material so it would be durable and easy to store. You can trim your tree with scissors, but FedEx Office also offers contour cutting options, as mentioned in previous projects. Lamination is also available to make your tree last even longer. Play around with your options, consult a Team Member and find the best combination for you and your kids.
3. Choose the trimmings for your tree. I purchased colorful cardstock paper so my son could make his own lights and ornaments. The clip art I chose also had a face so I printed those separately so my son could also make his own silly face for his tree (kind of like pin the tail on the donkey).
4. Let the decorating begin! I stuck removable mounting putty to the back of the lights and ornaments so he could apply the decorations and so I can easily remove them so he can enjoy it for years to come!
I hope your children enjoy decorating their very own tree this year as much as my son did. Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
