A Special Gift for Dinner Party Guests
I have finally put the house back in order from the holidays. Now, it’s on to the next event -- which is hosting a dinner party for my parents and in-laws. While they’ve met before, this will be the first dinner at our house since we got married last summer.
I’ve already designed the table setting, created the centerpiece for the table, and planned the menu. I’ve even taken into consideration all their preferences and allergies, plus chosen items that look lovely once plated. Luckily, I don’t have to cook the meal as that is the hubby’s forte!
Here are a couple of ideas I had for my party that I wanted to pass along for your next dinner gathering. First, plan to serve the meal family-style. I always prefer this method because it is more personal and can help to start the conversation at the table.
Second, consider giving your guest a small, personal gift. I always have a little something special for my guests to take with them after dinner and this is no exception. I have created menu cards for each place setting using decorative stationery. Printed on the front are the courses, and on the back I included one of my favorite parts from our wedding ceremony. As they say, something simple and meaningful makes the best gifts.
I think the finished product turned out beautifully!
What do you think? I would love to hear about your favorite dinner party tips, so please dish!
