2010 Calendars – 12 Months of Creativity

I’ve always found beautifully framed photos of kids to be tried and true winners when it comes to giving holiday gifts to the grandparents each year. I’m sure you’ve found the same – even when it’s something you came up with last minute for Christmas or Hanukah. If you want to put a spin on it this year, think about putting together a family photo calendar. Some options to consider:
- Photos that are themed around the month. For example: your son at the pool in July, your daughter leaving for her first day of school in September, or the family trick-or-treating on Halloween.
- A children’s art calendar. Let your children draw their own designs for each month that you scan and use in place of photos.
- A calendar full of vintage family photos. I recently found a book in my mom’s house with photos from my great Aunt’s wedding. All the old-school black-and-whites could make a really fun retro calendar, too!
These are incredibly easy to make, and through FedEx Office you can upload and submit digital photos online or bring hard copies into the store to create the calendar in person. If you try any of these this year or have seen other fun twists on the basic calendar, let us know!

summer vacation calendar
I adore the vintage photo idea; this is just the kind of thing I like, incorporating the new with the old. That's one calendar that would be worth saving.
When my son was little, we got a special calendar the week before summer vacation. Together we planned one special event for each day. Sometimes, the special event was "origami" or " collect bugs", "trip to Hershey Park" or "relax under shade tree with books". No matter how small the event, it was something to look forward to and I also could plan any necessary jobs around those events.
Somehow, just having something written on a calendar makes it more special.
It was also great at the end of summer when he woud inevitably whine, "I didn't get to do anything this summer." Ha. I had proof and we both had memories.Needless to say, I laminated them the end of each summer and now, he knows exactly what he did two summers ago.
I did this last year and it
I did this last year and it was a hit and oh so easy to do!!
Professional Look
I've seen these on several sites, but yours have a much more professional look to them. I had no idea that FedEx Office could do these. I'm thinking about making one for my grandparents who have EVERYTHING!! Thanks for the idea!
Calendars make the perfect gifts!
Can't go wrong with them, and they are fun to make, too!
Great Gift
What a great idea for a gift that is so personal and makes someone smile all year long!
Love your ideas of pictures
Love your ideas of pictures to use for calendars. You're so right - the best gift for a grandparent is a calendar filled with pictures of their grandchildren. I always search year-round for the best calendar deals, make them during a sale, and hold the calendars until Chistmas rolls around.
Calendars are Great Ideas!
I often plan for pictures during each month of the year, so that I have a bunch to choose from in December when I make up calendars for Grandmas and Grandpas!
I love this idea.

Great Gift Idea
This is actually on my "list" as a gift for my grandparents. I was planning on putting the grandkids in it throughout the month from the current year.
