Anniversary Gifts

Here at Out of Office, we’re kicking off the month of April with a month-long series of celebrations – anniversaries, retirement parties, baby showers, weddings and more. Spring has sprung and we feel like partying! I’m first up in the queue and today I’m sharing anniversary gift ideas.

It’s hard for me to believe that it’s almost been a full year, but I will be celebrating my first anniversary this April (you can read one of my wedding-related posts from last year here). I know the traditional gift for the first anniversary is paper – and because I’m a pretty traditional person it seemed natural that I’d find a special paper gift for my husband.

I decided to make stationery using our new monogram. I still love hearing my new married name (true story: it took a while to even recognize people were talking to me when they used it), so I thought this would be a perfect gift for both of us to use.

I selected these folding monogram cards from the Design & Print Center. I loved the colors in this one:

While all the cards can be customized, this design already had the three-letter monogram in place for me to use. I got 20 cards for less than $35 and they shipped free in about a week.

I already know just what to do with the first card too – I’m going to write a sweet, sappy love note to my husband to tell him what a great year it’s been!

Some other paper-related gifts to consider:

·         Mock up plane tickets for trip you’ll be taking together;

·         Publish a book featuring photos from every year you’ve known each other;

·         Preserve old notes, cards and memorabilia in a scrapbook;

·         Make love coupons, similar to these that I did for Valentine’s Day last year.

Whatever you make, have fun with it and happy anniversary!
