Family Game Night: Winter Bingo Blast

Winter around these parts seems never-ending! When temperatures are low, cold winds fast and snowy mounds high, I have to be especially creative to find exciting things to do with my two and a half year old son. His attention span is very limited so it has to be something I know he will enjoy for more than just a minute!
Recently, he has taken an interest in board games. I decided to make my own winter-themed bingo game for our family to play. My step-by-step tips for making the game are below.
STEP ONE:
First, I made a list of words with a winter theme. I was thinking of things like snowmen, hot chocolate, skis and mittens.
STEP TWO:
Next, I created a table in Microsoft® Word to serve as the bingo card. I filled the table with the winter words from my list. Then, I designed my bingo chips using basic shapes. I designed snowflakes to follow my theme but you can get as creative as you want, even using stamps or stickers to mark the squares during the game.
STEP THREE:
Once I had my bingo cards and chips designed, I took my creations to my nearby FedEx Office and had them printed on colored cardstock. There are a ton of color options so it can be hard to choose just one, but I picked bright colors with the hope of intriguing my toddler and lifting our winter spirits!
STEP FOUR:
Finally, with everything printed, I cut all the pieces out for the bingo chips. Now we’re ready to play!
This game is great – it’s affordable to make (less than $2!), cute for my little guy to play, and fun for everyone in the family! What kinds of games to you like to play with your family? Leave us a comment and share the fun!
