A New Twist on the Old Business Card

Five of my six nephews (Yes, I said six!) are playing soccer this fall. We don’t live close enough to attend their games, but frankly, I’m having trouble keeping up with when their games are anyway! And it’s not just me…I know their mothers, fathers and grandparents are, too!
That’s when it dawned on me that we should make schedule cards for them. These simple cards serve as quick reminders and are a special keepsake for scrapbooks at the end of each season. Plus, for kids, they can be fun to trade like baseball cards or school photos. For convenience, the ones I’ve designed are business card sized so they slip into wallets or underneath sun visors easily. The schedule is neatly displayed on a grid, showing the date, time, location and opponent of each game.
The longer I thought about it, the more creative I got. With the schedule on one side, the other side was pitifully blank. I decided that I could put their picture on the other side, kind of like a baseball card or an all-star card! Plus, this makes them more fun to trade...although I might breathe a heavy sigh if I learn that one of my nephews gave their card to a cute girl from school. They grow up so fast!
I made this simple template for the schedule side, and this border for the photo side. You can enter your information, then upload your custom design in the FedEx Office® Design & Print Center.
Ta-da! You have customized sports schedule cards, and they should arrive in about a week so you’ll be ready to share the schedule of all those games.
These don’t just have to be for soccer – but hopefully they’ll get a “kick” outta these!
