Party Posters that Pop
While I’m not yet a parent myself, I do have two godsons (ages four and two). Over the past several years, I’ve seen how much effort goes into their birthday parties and how hard it can be to come up with unique ideas. The oldest, for instance, loves taking pictures and looking at photos that he’s in, but it’s been difficult to work pictures into some of his party themes. Luckily, I found a unique way to do it: by making a modern, pop art poster featuring pictures of the birthday boy!
How-To Geek has step-by-step instructions to create your own pop art poster and I found that it was a really simple, quick process. The hardest part was narrowing down my photos to just one. If you have similar trouble deciding, consider using multiple photos for your poster. You might even choose different pictures (think one from each month) to highlight how much the birthday girl or boy has grown over the past year.
I made one large poster to hang above the gift table, but you could also create several small ones and place them all around the party. You might even make a banner from the photos, stringing them together side-by-side with separate “Happy Birthday” message sheets placed between the photos.
After the party is over, break your artwork apart for use in a scrapbook or display it in your child’s room. You can also create pop art photos of your party guests and include them in thank you notes. If you really like the pop art look, find other images and create artwork for a child’s room like I did below. Just be sure to choose non-copyrighted images when designing your décor.
