Thank You Notes Your Kids Will Want to Write
Now that the holidays are over, we’re experiencing a different kind of season at our house – thank you note season! I know I was supposed to have those written and sent a couple of weeks ago, but better late than never, right? My mom (who I hope isn’t reading this) would disagree. I remember her hounding me as a kid after every gift giving occasion to get those thank you notes written and in the mailbox.
I’m sure lots of you have experienced the same problem with your kids. So, how do you make thank you note writing fun so your kids don’t put it off? And what about kids who don’t know how to write yet? How do you get them involved?
I came up with a solution for my godsons, ages 5 and 3, that makes thank you note writing easy, fun and personal – a customizable thank you card! My card has blanks for them to fill in (with mom and dad or on their own), space for a fun photo and room on the back to draw a picture! I’ve created two templates with different color schemes, but you can easily create one incorporating a birthday party theme or your child’s favorite colors. You can even make one to coordinate with guest blogger Amy Locurto’s adorable free party printables!
I used FedEx Office® Print Online to upload my order and had it printed on cardstock.
Then I cut the cards out and included some envelopes from a local craft store. Since my template has two cards per page, you could also have FedEx Office cut the sheet in half, if you wanted to leave a white border around each card.
My order was ready in just a couple of hours, so if you wanted to include photos of your child from their birthday party, you could print the cards after the party and still send them out in time! Plus, you can order exactly the number you need, so no more stacks of random card leftovers or late night trips to buy just a few more.
Best of all, the cards are a fun way to teach kids about gratitude from an early age.
