Unique Valentine’s Day Cards for Kids
Finding cute Valentine’s Day cards for a two year-old to give away is no easy feat. I don’t like cards with licensed cartoon characters – it seems so commercial for a toddler. And the other cards I see are too…well…“mature.”
Michael Digiacomo, a team member from one of our FedEx Office stores in the Boston-area, wrote in and suggested making “custom cards straight from the heart.” And it got me thinking of fun ways to make personalized cards for friends and family.
So, my creative mother found this idea online from another blogger named Alissa, and I love it. First, I took a picture of Tate holding his hand out. Then, I took the memory card from my camera to FedEx Office where I used the Sony PictureStation to add words over the picture and print several copies. After printing them out, I cut two small holes in the hand and slipped in a lollipop so it looks like Tate is handing the lollipop to you. The picture above shows you the finished creation. It was really simple! The hardest part was getting my two-year-old to smile AND hold his arm out at the same time. Lots of candy was involved in the making of this picture…and I never even got a real smile out of him! Oh well, I still think he’s cute.
Thanks for the ideas, Michael and Alissa! I know my parents and in-laws will love them. And I can’t wait to drop these in the cubbies for his classmates at daycare!
