Decorate your home with posters

Like most crafters, I spend a lot of time on the internet browsing for creative inspiration. This month, I'm looking forward to spring and, while I don't look forward to traditional spring cleaning, I do like to freshen up the look of my home for the new season. One home décor concept I've run across online several times is a very simple one: a basic rearrangement of family photos.  Because it's such a quick and inexpensive way to spruce up a wall, I have had the idea on my "Things to Do" list for a while.

I decided to focus on a hodgepodge collection of family photos that has been growing on a main wall of my home, without rhyme or reason, over the past few years.  My favorite framed "photo" isn't even a photo at all. It's actually a hand drawn super hero caricature of my husband and me. The original is 14” x 16” and I realized that if only it was bigger, it would be a great focal point for the wall. The easiest solution was to take the drawing to my local FedEx Office® to have it copied and enlarged to poster size.

It was a fun process for my kids to watch -- the FedEx Office® Team Member who worked with us let us gather around the large format printer as she fed in the drawing. I took it out of the frame but I couldn't separate the drawing paper from the mat. As it turned out, the printer was able to accept the drawing with the mat included. All I had to do was request the enlargement size I wanted (22" x 28" so it would fit in a standard size frame) and my work was done the following day.

The FedEx Office® Team Member creating our project was even able to make the enlargement brighter than the original, which had faded a bit over the years.

I picked up my completed poster the next day, popped it in the frame and I was ready to edit our family photo wall.  Having a large focal point piece gave the wall the neat, organized look I wanted.  I'm now recommending this quick home décor idea to all my friends. A trip to your local FedEx Office® and you can easily enlarge your favorite images for framing. And with Mother’s Day around the corner, this is a fabulous option for kids' artwork, too. Take a small piece they bring home from school and turn it into a show stopper for the home. Moms will love it!
