Decorate your home with posters

Like most crafters, I spend a lot of time on the internet browsing for creative inspiration. This month, I'm looking forward to spring and, while I don't look forward to traditional spring cleaning, I do like to freshen up the look of my home for the new season. One home décor concept I've run across online several times is a very simple one: a basic rearrangement of family photos.  Because it's such a quick and inexpensive way to spruce up a wall, I have had the idea on my "Things to Do" list for a while. ...read more

Thinking Creatively and Engaging Employees with a Poster-Size Puzzle

If you own a small business, you have probably put some thought into the different ways you can engage and motivate your employees. Many small businesses do this by hosting annual events like retreats, conferences or parties that boost employee morale and give the team time for socializing. ...read more

Clinging to a great school year (And a Teacher Discount!)

We have a great idea for teachers to spruce up the classroom (or parents to use at home to educate or inspire). Window clings are a good way to utilize space and get noticed. It’s also an excellent way to prominently display everyday items such as classroom rules, daily task lists or schedules.

Beyond my own charitable endeavors outside of work, our office participates in two major fundraising drives each year for the March of Dimes and United Way. My fellow team members are always interested in finding out how the campaigns are going – and while e-mail updates are nice, a visual representation really helps people see the goal and how far we need to go to meet it.

The thermometer goal like the one in the picture above is tried and true and does this job admirably. As I say, don’t mess with a classic! ...read more

Summertime Photos Taken to the Next Level

As a graduate student in art school, I was surrounded by talented graphic artists. While I was studying advertising and not design, I have always had an interest in art. Even though my skills are limited, I still like to think of myself as a creative individual. Lately I have been trying to use my artistic side to reinvent the artwork on my walls at home. We recently reorganized our furniture and I was thinking of a way to spruce up the walls, rather than continuing to look at the few random things I have accumulated at garage sales in years past. ...read more
