Make a Memorable Canvas Print for your Valentine

Picking a Valentine’s Day gift for a guy can be tricky – you want to give him something thoughtful and from the heart, but definitely nothing stuffed, glittered, or smothered in chocolate.

This year I decided to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art for my boyfriend. This is really easy to do at your local FedEx Office® because they can turn your favorite photo into a canvas print in just a couple of days. And to sweeten the deal, now through February 28, 2013 they are 50% off in store! (Get a coupon here.)

Here’s how I created this unique, personalized piece of art:

1.)   Find a photo of something your Valentine loves. You could use a vacation or wedding photo, or one of your children. For mine, the dogs win. I didn’t have a picture of both of them together, so I held a mini photo shoot. (Honestly, this was the toughest part of this whole project. The rest is super easy!)

2.)   Touch up the photo in editing software and save the final file to a flash drive.

3.)   Bring your flash drive to your local FedEx Office and request a canvas print. There are three sizes to choose. I selected 16” X 20” because it was a good size for an empty space on his desk in the office.

4.)   Pick up your canvas print when it’s ready and wrap it in festive paper. (Who doesn’t love tearing open a present?) Make sure to include a proper picture hanging kit, which can be found at any hardware or home supply store, so it can be displayed.

I hope your special someone loves this gift idea as much as mine will. Have other recommendations for canvas prints? Share with us in the comments below and make sure to tell a friend about our great 50% off deal.Happy Valentine’s Day!
