Holiday Packages Delivered on Your Schedule!

A major holiday is on the horizon…no, I’m not talking about Thanksgiving. I’m talking about what comes after the turkey and family time – Cyber Monday! For the inexperienced, Cyber Monday is one of the biggest shopping days of the year for online retailers and a day when you can score some great deals online. Basically it’s the Black Friday of the online retail world.

I love online shopping – you add something to your “cart” and it magically appears on your doorstep in a matter of days. For some people, however, this process can be a bit more complicated when the delivered shipment requires a signature. If no one is home when the delivery person arrives, the item you shipped for rush delivery could be in your hands much later than anticipated.

A Season Filled with LESS STRESS!

The holidays are fast approaching and we wanted to give you a heads-up on how to take some of the hassle out of this holiday season. When traveling to visit family this Thanksgiving, avoid the seemingly endless lines at the airport by “checking your bags” at FedEx Office®. Not only can you fly past the ticket counter straight to security, but your luggage will be waiting for you at mom’s house or the hotel when you arrive at your destination.   ...read more

College Campus Series:
Lighten Your Load During Your Next Move

Guest Blogger Eddie Moye is a summer fellow at Ketchum, the public relations agency for FedEx Office. He recently graduated from college and has lived in four different cities in the past four years – and knows the stress that comes with moving all too well.

During my four years at a college 600 miles away from my hometown, I amassed a gargantuan amount of stuff. I hoarded and piled everything I owned in my tiny dorm room, leaving only a small walkway from the door to my bed. Since I didn’t have a car at school, I had to fly home every summer – leaving me to fit everything I had accumulated into only the two duffel bags that airline baggage policies allow. Honestly, more of my stuff ended up in trash bags than in my luggage by the time I was done packing up my room.

And it’s no different when you’re getting ready for the return trip every fall! ...read more

Make Your Packaging Perfect

We’ve written before about the importance of building a strong personal brand and professional image for yourself – and if we haven’t made it clear yet, we think it’s very important!  But obviously branding is an enormously important issue for businesses, too. Building a consistent brand image can make a business of any size stand out from the crowd.

The Holidays are Over, but the
Wrapping Paper Remains…

Now that the holidays are over, I’ve got about a half dozen rolls of holiday paper taking up space in my already-crowded hall closet. Instead of storing it until this time next year I’ve come up with some ways to use it all year round. I admit many seem to involve lamination, but if you have any you think I’ve missed (lamination or no!), please leave it in the comments section for us to check out.

  • Placemats – cut a piece of wrapping paper to 14”x18” and have it laminated. If you have the time – and patience – you could also weave together 2” strips of two types of wrapping paper to make a more colorful and dynamic design.

  • Coasters – cut out and laminate several 4”x4” squares to make easy-to-clean but festive party coasters.

  • Bookmarks – slice elegant wrapping paper into 2”x9” strips. Place the strips back to back and laminate to create a two-sided bookmark. You can also punch a hole at the top and attach a tassel of color-coordinating thread.

Shopping and Shipping for a
Budget-Friendly Christmas

With only one week until Christmas Eve, I know I need to buckle down and find meaningful gifts that won’t break my budget. I’ve always found it best to give a few trinkets that are useful and unique, along with a special note to remind friends and family how much I care.

Visit your favorite local stores and pick a variety of scented soaps and small candles in your friend or family member’s favorite color. You can wrap them in colorful tissue paper leftover from stuffing gift bags to make the present pop! Remember to include a handwritten holiday note reminding your loved ones why they mean so much to you.
