Personalize Your Smartphone with a Custom Case

With the holidays on the horizon (yes – it's already THAT time of year again), big tech companies have started to announce and release the latest versions of their mobile phones. If you're like me, you don't want to wait in line outside a store for hours (let alone camp out!) or elbow your way through a mass of eager shoppers all waiting to get their hands on the newest devices. I say save your sanity and give your current phone a makeover.

Thank You Notes Your Kids Will Want to Write

Now that the holidays are over, we’re experiencing a different kind of season at our house – thank you note season! I know I was supposed to have those written and sent a couple of weeks ago, but better late than never, right? My mom (who I hope isn’t reading this) would disagree. I remember her hounding me as a kid after every gift giving occasion to get those thank you notes written and in the mailbox. ...read more

It’s not too late!

If you have a gift or two still on your list, you can get them under the Christmas tree in time for the holiday even if you have to ship them across the country to friends and family! As a reminder for all you procrastinators, tomorrow is the last day to ship using FedEx Express® to have packages arrive before December 25. If you need a few pointers to help ship your gifts like the “pros” at FedEx Office®, check out our packing and shipping tips here. ...read more

A Season Filled with LESS STRESS!

The holidays are fast approaching and we wanted to give you a heads-up on how to take some of the hassle out of this holiday season. When traveling to visit family this Thanksgiving, avoid the seemingly endless lines at the airport by “checking your bags” at FedEx Office®. Not only can you fly past the ticket counter straight to security, but your luggage will be waiting for you at mom’s house or the hotel when you arrive at your destination.   ...read more

Purrfectly Splendid Pet Placemats!

My two cats are messier eaters than my son. I am constantly urging them not to play with their food and water...but somehow I don’t think they’re getting the message! And really, who can train a cat?! They seem to be fascinated with making a mess. Random items from around the house seem to end up in their bowls, such as hair ties and candy wrappers. They have even come up with a system for eating where one crunches up the large pieces and the other cat eats the leftover crumbs! The other night I caught the little one with her paw in the water, repeatedly batting at the edge and splashing water everywhere.

To counteract their mess I have created my own “cat mat” that can live under their food and water bowls – hopefully containing the spillage to the easier-to-clean mat and not my floor!

Here are the simple steps to create your own custom pet placemat:

Taking Note: Custom Notepad How-To

By now, most of you have probably realized that I really enjoy creating personalized things for myself and others (see my previous posts on personalized sticky notes, custom banners and branded pens). One reason for this is that it’s nice to know that no one will have the same thing that I do. An added bonus is that it’s fun to see my designs turn out just the way I envisioned. ...read more

Coffee with the Bloggers: Maggie

Q: If you weren’t blogging for Out of Office, what kind of blog would you want to write?

A: I’d like to say I would blog about something worldly like art or cooking, but realistically I would probably blog about my life experiences. I think a lot of people can relate to trying to live a balanced life.

Q: Favorite type of food?

A: The one food I can’t resist is pizza. Admittedly, I’m not that adventurous when it comes to food so give me a cheesy pizza and I’m set! It’s so hard to understand how carbs can be so bad but taste so good. My sweet tooth can get me into trouble, too!

Q: Favorite way to relax and unwind?

A: I enjoy spending time with my son. He and I will go for a walk, read a story, or play cars (his favorite!)

Q: Best vacation you’ve ever taken?

Custom Pens Make Just the “Write” Gift

Every year around this time I get nostalgic about the days of back to school shopping. I looked forward to picking out new clothes for the upcoming school year, but I enjoyed selecting my school supplies even more! Maybe I was a weird kid, but I loved organizing my fresh paper, unused folders and binders, and brand new pens into my backpack for the first time. I still get really excited about school (now office) supplies and I’m always on the lookout for something new or unique for my collection. ...read more

A Very Special Pregnancy Journal

As many of our regular readers know,  my husband and I are expecting a baby later this year.   It’s a special time, and I don’t want to forget any of it later – the excitement, anticipation, and even the not-so-pleasant things like cravings for cheeseburgers. I decided to make a pregnancy journal to record all the details.   ...read more

Q: If you weren’t blogging for Out of Office, what kind of blog would you want to write?

A: If you turned our Random Ramblings category into a blog, that’d be a good blueprint for something I’d write. I’m naturally random and a little bit silly, and if given a captive audience for my ramblings, opinions, creative ideas, and general excitement about the small things in life, that’d be perfect. I’d probably also incorporate photos of things that inspired me, because I’m a sucker for pictures.

Q: Favorite type of food?

A: Food, period. We have a lot of food-enthusiasts here at the office, but I’m generally the one asking about lunch first. And by first, I mean at 9:45 a.m. Maybe I’ll add a Food of the Day category into the plan for that blog…

Q: Cat or dog person?
